A tribute to the veterans of America's four major 20th-century conflicts. Located in Oklahoma City, this large-scale commission was created with Bill Sowell.
The monument was originally installed on the grounds of the Oklahoma Historical Society, a building that now serves as the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
Each bas-relief panel is eight feet wide, and the soldier in the middle, independently entitled The Eternal Guard (below), stands eight feet tall.
O'Meilia and Sowell were awarded the commission after the War Memorial committee reviewed dozens of entries from around the country.
For the monument's centerpiece, O'Meilia and Sowell selected a Vietnam-era soldier.
